Mother's Day Fishing Report May 8th
Fishing is picking up! Even with the strong north winds yesterday, the water warmed a couple degrees and the fish have decided to move in. We marked quite a few fish higher in the water column today along with quite a few bottom huggers. We had nine fish bite and managed three nice Lake trout into the net..14 lbs.. 12 lbs .. and 10lbs.. they were biting light... and we know why.. the one trout had 16 big gobies in it! Fish bit on jointed froggie Rapala on 8 colors of lead, 200 copper with kelly green / lime green dodger and Kelly green spin n glow with green squid, copper dodger and green spin n glow on wire diver , lime green dodger and chartreuse / red dots spin n glow off wire diver, and 1 1/2 lb lead ball on wire with white dodger and hot orange spin in glow (dodgers were all bumping bottom). We fished 40 to 60 FOW.
